What we do: State-wide secondary consultation service

The ONTrac at Peter Mac state-wide secondary consultation service is designed to support healthcare professionals from across Victoria to deliver age-appropriate care to young people living with cancer.

Most secondary consultations are conducted over the telephone. If necessary, video conferencing may be used or an ONTrac at Peter Mac clinician may meet with the primary team at the site of the young persons care.

ONTrac at Peter Mac Secondary Consultation Service can assist with:

  • Diagnosis, treatment & disease management of AYA with cancer.
  • Information about referral pathways for AYA across Victoria.
  • Assistance in negotiating referral pathways, which traverse the paediatricĀ and adult sectors.
  • Clinical trial availability and eligibility.
  • Advice and guidance regarding paediatric/adolescent medicine resources.
  • Professional support & guidance for treating teams.
  • Building a network of AYA oncology champions within adult oncology/haematology.
